blessing

We all know that we are all blessed by God. Do we realize what blessings He had given to us? Do we know that it is already a blessing? Have we encountered one?

I lost my father when I was still little. I am a fatherless boy that time. hilak akong mama pagkamatay ni tatay Dave. I did not cry because I was still young and wala pa ko’y buot. I just realized this when I grew up. I know God has His reasons why it happened. It is so painful loosing a love one. That time when my father died, me, my mother and my sister are the one left in the family. we know that God will not abandon us and we always have faith in Him. Then God answered our prayers and He gave us a man, a new father. That was the time I encountered one of God’s blessings. He knows that we don’t have a father and He gave us and provided us what we needed. My family became complete again. I was very thankful that I have a father again.

That is how I encountered one of God’s blessings. Kayo, naaalala niyo nab a kung kalian ninyo na.encounter and biyaya ng Panginoon?

autobiography

A boy was born December 27, 1990 at Fabie General Hospital in Davao City. He was the son of Rosedida Rabaya and David Paul Salem. His name is Isagani Paolo Salem. That boy is me.

Maybe you’re wondering why my mother has a different surname. It is because my father (biological father) died when I was still 2 years old and eleven months old. My mother can’t raise both of us (me and my sister) that’s why she married again. That is why her surname is different from mine.

As you see, I have a stepfather now because my biological father died a long time ago.

I am now 18 years of age and is studying at Brokenshire College in Davao City. I am taking up nursing as a preparatory course for me to study medicine proper. I like playing basketball, watching television and playing computer. My hobbies are sleeping, eating, playing then sleep again. Hehe. I am the eldest in my family. I have a sister and brother. They say that each of us kay naa’y gipagmanahan. I look like my biological father, my sister looks like my mother and my stepbrother looks like my stepfather. O diba, equally distributed.

So that is just an overview of who I am. I will not include my attitude and personality because it is not constant, meaning, it is changing.

my ambition

everyone has his own ambition...ako pud eh, nee pud ko. alangan... hehe...

my ambition was to be a medical doctor someday. specifically a pediatrician. this is because my biological father (who died when i as 2 years 11 months old) is a medical doctor. but he does not a specialty. after schooling for 4 years of pre-medicine course, he decided to go out of the country to study accupuncture. he chose to study accupuncture in China than to proceed in schooling in proper medicine because of the reason that my lola (his mother) has an illness and he thinks that he can treat or even just alleviate lola's hardship in struggling against her illness with accupuncture. he sacrificed schooling in proper medicine just to help lola.

i was touched by the attitude and the passion of my father to help lola in her sufferings.

if we hear the word doctor, what comes to our mind is that he is rich becuase they are working in the hospital with a big salary, not less than 20,000 pesos a month...because they save lives. but my father is different. he did not work in a hospital. instead, he accepted an offer to work in a poor area and he was only payed 2,000 a month. where will you a doctor like him today?

this reason moved me to be also like him; to help other people who are in need. the work of my father has touched me to dedicate myself in helping others. i did not choose this profession to be rich but to help people in thier struggles and to just like my father.

favorite christian song

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

I am yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Thy I am yours.
I am yours.

as simple as the message of the song, i just simply like it. =) CYF Kidapawan

my most memorable vacation

my most memorable experience happened at summer of year 2004.

it was the wedding of my tita Lalai held in boracay in the month of may year 2004. all of us were invited to go. it was so exciting that i could finally go to boracay (kinsa gud d ma.excite ana nga gnabalita pa gud na xa nga place. hehe). but before we reach that paradise, we have to take a long trip from mindanao to visayas. it almost took us 2 days to arrive because we travelled through a ship. i was not bored along the way 'coz i have my cuz with me pero astang kapuya jud kay magsakay pa ka og van tpos barko tpos bus tpos lantsa tpos bus na pud tpos naa pa pakapin na tricycle sa last. but when we got there, i told myself "sulit man diay ang byahe". the place was really great.

the next day, the wedding of my tita took place. it was a garden wedding held at a resort in boracay (kalimot lng ko sa pangalan sa resort). there were many people that came, many relatives...but most of all, ang pagkaon nagbaha, mga lami pa jud. the wedding was so fun.

after the wedding, we went to the beach to take a swim. the water was so clear. there were many foreigners taking a sunbath. we rested for a while after having a swim. then, we went to this place where there are so many souvenirs being sold. we bought some then we went back to the resort.

on the way back, i was told to stick with the group in order not to be lost. unya kay gahi man ko og ulo, eh di nag.una una ko sa akong mga kauban. it was a little while that i realized i was already lost. da. tagam. nawala lagi ko. gahi man ulo. i stayed calm and decided to trace the path i took. unya kay wala man nko nasubay, kahilakon na kaau ko. the thing i did not know is that my father and cuzins were already out searching for me...because i was lost for more than an hour already. luckily, my father found me......but unluckily, he pinched my ear so hard (kay suko na diay kaau siya kay gahilak na akong mama) and he never let go until we arrived at the resort. as expected, gikasab.an ko og taman kay gahi man kaau ko og ulo.

hooooooooh. there it is. my most memorable experience. hehe. gahi kaau ko og ulo nOh..!!

my favorite anime character

Himura Kenshin , known as Kenshin Himura in the English-language dub, is a fictional character from the Rurouni Kenshin universe created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. He is the main protagonist of the manga and anime series, as well as the related media in the franchise. When creating Kenshin, Watsuki designed him to be the physical opposite of Hiko Seijūrō, a character that appears in Watsuki's first one-shot manga, Crescent Moon in the Warring States, and later in Rurouni Kenshin as his swordsmanship teacher.

Set in a fictional version of Japan, during the pre-Meiji period, Kenshin is a former legendary assassin known as "Hitokiri Battōsai". At the end of the Bakumatsu, he becomes a wandering samurai, now wielding a sakabatō "reverse-blade sword", a katana that has the cutting edge on the inwardly curved side of the sword, thus being nearly incapable of killing. Kenshin wanders the countryside of Japan offering protection and aid to those in need, as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin. In Tokyo, he meets a young woman named Kamiya Kaoru, who invites him to live in her dojo despite learning about Kenshin's past. Throughout the series, Kenshin begins to establish lifelong relationships with many people, including ex-enemies, while dealing with his fair share of enemies, new and old. Through these encounters and relationships, Kenshin begins to find true atonement for his past enabling him to fully conquer his "Battōsai" nature. By the series' end, he has found true peace and contentment as the husband of Kaoru and the father of their son, Kenji.

Kenshin's character was well received by fans, with his holding the top spot in all reader popularity polls for the series. Critics of the series praised his personality, though some complained about his development during the original video animation (OVA) series, which differs from the manga. A variety of collectibles based around Kenshin have been created, including figurines, key chains, plushies, and replicas of his sakabatō sword.
